En los últimos días he tenido mucho problemas a causa de gmail, despues de 4 años de ser beta están peor que windows, no sólo eso, sino que ahora con google chrome quieren monopolizar la web. Al empezar a usar gmail la gente me criticó por no ser libre, yo queria probarlo y ya lo probé. Espero que ahora estén contentos, porque de a poco iré abandonando todos sus servicios(gmail, google, blogspot).

Les quiero comunicar la excelente noticia de que cumplimos el objetivo, SE APROBÓ LA LEY DE BOSQUES Y LA MORATORIA A LOS DESMONTES ES COMPLETA. Gracias a la fuerte presión de Greenpeace, de todas las organizaciones aliadas entre las que están ECO-ACCION Mendoza y de todos los argentinos que firmaron para apoyar se consiguió la sanción de esta ley pese a la fuerte presión de intereses económicos.
Quiero darles un especial agradecimiento a todos los miembros de Eco-Acción que se sumaron a juntar firmas para esta campaña durante 5 eco-acciones, con los cuales reunimos las casi 1300 firmas de mendocinos que de puño y letra nos apoyaron.
Aprovecho además para invitarlos a seguir luchando para conseguir nuevas metas por la defensa de nuestro medio ambiente.
El fin de locate, slocate y mlocate?
Creo que muchos conocen la historia de buscar archivos, muchos usan find, otros locate, despues locate evoluciono en slocate, mas tarde aparece mlocate, y ahora finalmente me encuentro con rlocate (modulo de kernel + demonio).

Centericq vive o muere?
Leo recientemente que el proyecto centericq esta desmantenido, pero el peso de los usuarios se hace sentir, ellos lo mantienen, lo arreglan y hasta el dia de hoy sobrevive, seguido muy de atras por gaim-text y naim, centericq sigue siendo el rey de la mensajeria instantanea en modo texto.

Bienvenidos!
A continuacion una mini guia de como ser usuario de software libre,
porque tambien debemos aprender a ser usuarios, ya que no basta con
solo usar el software.
Para los recien llegados...Nuestro recurso mas preciado.
Los usuarios, los grupos de usuarios (Lug's), las listas de correo de
software libre, estan ahi para ayudar, para facilitar la comunicacion
y la interactividad de la comunidad. "NO" estan para resolver los
problemas de los particulares, ni hacer el trabajo de otro por lo
que suelen contestar a una forma muy molesta cuando se hace referencia
a estos.
Los usuarios de software libre debemos (moralmente hablando)
contribuir, con los desarrolladores, usuarios, mantenedores y
empaquetadores del software.
Las formas de colaborar pueden ser las siguientes:
1. Informando a las listas de correo, autor, mantenedor o grupos de
usuarios, de la distribucion del software, sobre el funcionamiento
correcto o incorrecto del mismo.
2. Aportando ideas, arreglos, mejoras, traducciones, documentacion,
etc.
3. Popularizar el software, notificando a los otros usuarios, o grupos
de usuarios de algun programa que resuelve un problema, o realiza
una tarea comun que pueda ser util para otros.
4. Compartir ideas, inquietudes y dudas respecto a cierto software.
5. Compartir el software, hacer copias, y distribuirlo.
Entonces, como ayuda esto a la comunidad de software libre?
1. Ayuda a mantener el software funcional y libre de errores para
todos los usuarios, todos los problemas y errores de cierto software
deberian ser publicados en mas de un lugar publico de modo que se
asegure el conocimiento de estos.
2. Ayuda a mejorar el software, soporte de idiomas, facilitando el
aprendizaje del mismo y la integracion en la comunidad.
3. Sirve para mantener la comunidad informada de los nuevos programas
que son usados por otros usuarios para resolver sus tareas o en el uso
cotidiano.
4. Retroalimentacion para los desarrolladores y usuarios, sobre algun
soporte que se esperaba de dicho software, nuevas ideas para mejorar
el proyecto, ayuda a mantener activo el proyecto y motivados a los
desarrolladores, ya que estos necesitan saber que hay usuarios del
mismo, sin usuarios ni actividad, los desarrolladores pueden suponer
que nadie utiliza dicho software y abandonarlo.
5. La distribucion del software libre es muy importante para los
usuarios, las comunidades, y los desarrolladores, porque sume gente a
las comunidades, populariza el software, promueve la idea de
compartir el software libre entre los usuarios y la ayuda mutua.
"Los usuarios de software no libre estan acostumbrados a adaptarse al
software provisto por el vendedor."
Lo anteriormente dicho es totalmente falso, y no debe ser asi, por lo
que en el software libre es al reves, ya que pensamos que el software
se hace para el usuario, y no el usuario para el software.
"Las herramientas se hacen para los hombres, no los hombres para las
herramientas".
El software libre es modificable y adaptable al gusto y a la comodidad
del usuario para facilitar la interaccion entre estos de manera que el
usuario sea mas productivo a la vez de sentirse mas comodo.
Asegurando la continuidad del software...
Mientras existan grupos o usuarios activos de cierto software, se
asegura la continuidad de este.
Esta es mi opinion, no una ley.
